The Frontier Airlines World Mastercard, issued by Barclays Bank Delaware, is built around one budget-airline reality: Frontier's base fares are cheap, but bag fees and add-ons aren't. The card's headline perks — two free checked bags and instant elite status — target exactly that gap.
The mileage-earning structure
Cardholders earn up to 15x miles on eligible purchases at flyfrontier.com: 10x for being a FrontierMiles member plus a 5x card bonus, per Barclays. Restaurant purchases earn 3x miles, and everything else earns 1x. The card also unlocks Instant Elite Gold Status after your first purchase within 90 days of account opening — no minimum spend required for that first tier, though maintaining Elite Gold for a full 12 months requires $3,000 in purchases within that same 90-day window.
What the $99 annual fee buys
Beyond the mileage rate, the annual fee covers two free checked bags on eligible Frontier flights, priority boarding (Group 4), no foreign transaction fees, complimentary FICO Score access, and a $100 flight voucher every account anniversary after $2,500+ in that cardmembership year's purchases. Miles never expire as long as the account stays open and in good standing, and there are no blackout dates on award travel.
Our methodology
Every figure above — annual fee, APR, mileage rates, and welcome bonus terms — is attributed to Barclays' own published card page (cards.barclaycardus.com), verified August 2026.
