Questions about Bilt Mastercard®

How does the Bilt Mastercard earn points on rent?

You pay rent through the Bilt app (or to a participating landlord), and Bilt credits 1x points on rent up to $50,000 per year — without charging a transaction fee to the landlord. To activate rent-earning, you must make at least 5 purchases on the card in that billing cycle. Rent is paid as an ACH transfer, so your landlord doesn't need to accept cards.

What are Bilt Mastercard's transfer partners?

Bilt Rewards transfers 1:1 to 14 airline and hotel partners, including United MileagePlus, American Airlines AAdvantage, Air Canada Aeroplan, Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles, and World of Hyatt. The domestic airline coverage — United and American — is unusual for a no-annual-fee card and provides strong practical redemption value for US travelers.

Is there a sign-up bonus on the Bilt Mastercard?

No — there is no traditional sign-up bonus. The value proposition is the ongoing rent earning (1x on up to $50K/year) rather than a first-year welcome offer. For a renter paying $2,000/month in rent, that's 24,000 points annually just from rent. Year-1 value relative to a bonus-bearing card depends on your rent amount and how you value Bilt points vs. other currencies.

What happens if I don't make 5 purchases in a month?

You won't earn points on rent for that billing cycle. The 5-transaction minimum must be met each month to activate rent earning. Points on non-rent purchases (dining, travel, other) still earn regardless of the 5-transaction threshold. The minimum is low enough that most active cardholders hit it without trying — even 5 small purchases like coffee or groceries qualifies.
