Homeowners who want to access home equity for ongoing or everyday spending with a credit card interface rather than a traditional wire-draw HELOC.
Aven — HELOC-backed Visa credit card — spend your home equity like cash. Best for: Homeowners who want to access home equity for ongoing or everyday spending with a credit card interface rather than a traditional wire-draw HELOC.. Compare it against alternatives before applying; the right fit depends on your situation, credit, and goals.
The Aven card is a Visa credit card backed by a home equity line of credit. The card interface is a standard Visa — you swipe or tap like any credit card. But the underlying credit facility is a HELOC, meaning your home is collateral. The rate is typically lower than unsecured credit cards because of the home security. However, if you miss payments, your home is at risk — the same as any HELOC. Aven is suited for homeowners who want home-equity-rate credit for everyday or ongoing spending.
Aven Financial, Inc. holds NMLS #2042345. The company also does business as 'Aven' or 'Aven Card' in Arkansas, Idaho, and Pennsylvania. Verify current state licensing at nmlsconsumeraccess.org.
As of the time of this review, the Aven card is available in 43 states. It is not available in Hawaii, Indiana, Massachusetts, Missouri, Nevada, New York, or Utah. The maximum credit line is also capped at $100,000 (rather than $400,000) in Alaska, Arkansas, Idaho, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Dakota, and Wyoming. Verify current state availability at aven.com before applying.
ClearValue Lending is a financial platform, not a HELOC lender. This review is for informational purposes. We may receive compensation if you click through and apply. Because the Aven card uses your home as collateral, review all terms carefully — missing payments carries the same foreclosure risk as any home equity loan.
